Rotate PDF fixes pages that were scanned sideways or upside-down. Apply rotation to all pages or just a specific range, then download the corrected document.
Phone scanner apps and multifunction printers often save pages in the orientation the page was fed, not the orientation it should be read in. A landscape page scanned through a portrait feeder ends up rotated 90°, and reading it means tilting your head or rotating your laptop. Rotate PDF fixes this in place — each page can be turned 90°, 180° or 270° clockwise and saved without re-rasterising the content, so text stays crisp and selectable.
We use pdf-lib to update each page's rotation property — a single value in the PDF's metadata that tells viewers which way is up. Because the underlying page content is untouched, file size doesn't change and text remains searchable. Compare this to taking a screenshot and rotating the image, which would re-encode and visibly degrade the page.
Most pages need the same rotation, but if you have a single landscape diagram inside a portrait report, you can rotate that one page separately. The tool shows thumbnails so you can pick exactly which pages to rotate and which to leave alone.
All processing runs locally in your browser — your file is read into memory on your device, transformed by JavaScript, and offered back as a download. The code that runs is the same code that ships to every visitor — auditable in the page source. We follow standard web security practice: HTTPS-only delivery, Subresource Integrity on third-party scripts, and a strict Content Security Policy that prevents arbitrary third-party code from running on the page. Start from the highest-quality source you reasonably can — Rotate PDF preserves quality but cannot invent detail that isn't in the input. For images, prefer the original camera file over a screenshot of a screenshot. For PDFs, prefer the digitally generated original over a phone photograph of a printout. If a step in your workflow is going to compress or downscale, do it last, so each earlier step still has full information to work with.
