QR codes are the fastest way to bridge print and digital — a printed code on a flyer, business card or restaurant menu opens a website, joins a WiFi network, dials a number or launches a WhatsApp chat in two taps. The QR Tools hub has a dedicated generator for every common payload type, so you don't have to remember the right URI scheme (mecard:, WIFI:, upi://, mailto:) — pick the right tool, fill in the fields, and download a high-resolution PNG.

All QR generation happens in your browser. The library encodes the payload, applies error-correction (so the code still scans even if part of it is smudged or printed badly), and renders a PNG at any size you choose. There's no watermark, no expiry, no tracking redirect, and no account required. The PNGs are vector-sharp at any print resolution.

For static information like a WiFi password, a business card or a payment UPI ID, a self-hosted QR code is the right answer — it works forever, doesn't depend on anyone else's service, and doesn't leak scan analytics to a third party. Use a dynamic / tracked QR service only when you genuinely need to swap the destination after printing.

Frequently asked questions

Do QR codes expire?
Static QR codes (the kind these generators produce) never expire — they encode the destination directly. Dynamic QR codes from third-party services can expire when the service shuts down or you stop paying. For business cards and flyers, static codes are safer.
What size should I print a QR code?
A good rule of thumb is the code should be at least 1/10th of the scanning distance. For a poster scanned from 2 metres, print at 20cm. For a business card scanned from 30cm, 3cm square is enough. Always print at 300 DPI to keep edges crisp.
Will the QR code still scan if I add a logo?
Usually yes. Our generators use high error-correction (level H), which lets you cover up to 30% of the code with a logo and still scan reliably. Always test with two different phones before printing a thousand copies.
Can I track how many people scanned my QR code?
Not with a static QR code — it goes straight to the destination. If you need scan analytics, encode a short URL you control (e.g. yoursite.com/promo) and track visits with your own analytics. We don't offer hosted tracking.
What's the difference between UPI and BHIM QR?
UPI is the underlying Indian payment standard; BHIM is the government's official UPI app. A QR code generated for either format works with every UPI-compatible app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM — because they all read the same upi:// URI.
Can I generate a WiFi QR code for guests?
Yes — use the WiFi QR generator, enter the network name (SSID), password and encryption type (WPA/WPA2 is standard). Guests scan the code with their camera and tap to join. Works on iOS 11+ and Android 10+.
